On Oct 11 a Crockett County District Jury awarded $12.9 million to the victim of a 2001 Ozona plane crash. The victim, Janet Grimmett, was represented by Charles Houssiere of HD&H. The trial lasted over two weeks before the unanimous verdict was returned before District Judge Brock Jones. Attorney Brad Leger joined Mr. Houssiere in Ozona to assist with the trial.

verdictCharles Houssiere, a pilot himself, and the entire staff of HD&H worked tirelessly to present Ms. Grimmetts' case and prove the pilot of the Piper PA-30 aircraft was negligent in running out of gas, which resulted in the plane crashing on Oct. 19, 2001.

Janet Grimmet was seriously injured with facial fractures and spine injuries which left her a paraplegic for life. Janet is a single mother of one daughter.

Mr. Houssiere came to admire the people and the spirit of the town of Ozona. He is grateful to the jurors who gave up over 2 weeks of their time to serve on the jury, also, the time and efforts of the court and it's staff, and the witnesses.

The staff of HD&H all congratulate Chip and Brad on doing such an excellent job in presenting the case and pursuing what is right for Ms. Grimmett.
